Start Friday 9am, finish Saturday 4pm. We start in the class room discussing the essentials of firearms safety, weapon handling and mindset. At lunch we’ll have a reflection regarding fathers, sons, ancestors and descendants and why the skills of warfare and violence are indispensable to this cycle. We then move to the range and learn to physically apply the fundamentals of marksmanship, handling and safety. The evening will be spent breaking bread together and smokin and jokin around the fire. Saturday morning will consist of hand to hand training where we learn and experience some dynamics of empty hand conflict. The course will culminate Saturday afternoon with more dynamic drills emphasizing team work based on the roles of father and son. The goal is to provide sound knowledge and skills in the safe and effective handling of a firearm. The hope is to use this context to bolster our community of men and boys and strengthen the trees that our great grandchildren will sit in the shade of.
